A rant on education

I wish admittance to university was based on achievement instead of solely examination grades. Portfolios should be used to show a student's potential, not academic ‘achievement’.

Even though I always seem to do fine in examinations, but this year will be different. The increase in difficulty from GCSE to AS may mean that I have to do some exams again. Infuriating!

Sometimes, I wonder whether Schools actually prevent achievement by limiting the scope of expression a student has. We are encouraged to learn static information from text books, not arguing, or creating. This is why I hate School: we should learn and produce, instead of preparing for a life of monotony.
