The challenge is simple: develop a toned stomach, maybe a six-pack, within four weeks for my trip to Spain. Yesterday I managed to bet Tom Wood, a friend of mine from the gym, that I could make a large difference to my body within four weeks. Shedding fat is quite a difficult task and it takes quite a large lifestyle change, not fasting or excessive exercise. According to an article I read a few months ago, when you fast your body first uses up muscle and anything else and obsessively tries to keep hold of fat — you do not need muscle if you are starving. The challenge has been made and I will try and make some improvements to my eating and exercise regime to succeed: a lot more cardiovascular such as rowing and running would be a great benefit.
