Currys success; retail and money

Today I experienced my first period review at Currys. It went really well and my performance was rated good overall. I have a Saturday job in addition to my full-time position (Web Developer) at Premier Radio; being a Sales Colleague is enjoyable sometimes and pays for my travel to London.

The sales position at Currys has opened my eyes to commercial business, adding new knowledge of product margins, costs and efficiency to my previously naive mind. Money is unfortunately important; I would prefer that everyone in the world was cared for, and then rewarded further based on performance, intelligence and contribution to society. If I was the patriarch certain members of today’s bourgeoisie — footballers, models — would live in homes with four bedrooms, not mansions with swimming pools.

Geniuses who made the modern world possible may have to work to survive while the lucky, less intellectually talented, few attract the public attention and reap the monetary rewards. Common courtesy states we should look after those who help us climb the ladder to success.
