Frustration about ambition

I am getting really frustrated with the lack of aptitude around me. People want to learn for money, not for intellectual ambition. Oxbridge places are often viewed as tickets to high paying jobs, not admission to resources that will help you achieve.

Surely the point of humanity is to evolve intellectually and reach a point where all violence (wars, etc) becomes meaningless. I hasten to mention that this was probably the case with the Native Amercans: they apparently played war games to decide on important issues — fun and civilised. Perhaps current wars are just an excuse to reduce the population with the mindless culling of innocents: men and women, fathers and mothers slaughtered alike.

Humanity needs to stop competing and start working together: personal fortune amounts to nothing after you die.
