Another month of inactivity has passed and my website is in dire need of an update. I’ve had some good ideas for updates and improvements but getting the time to actually finish these is difficult. School is getting incredibly busy at the moment with the summer exams approaching far faster than I would like. At least once these are finished I’m totally free from exams for a whole year. It is going to be different and interesting next year, especially with the gap-year idea of travelling round Asia.
At the moment my life is basically illness, thinking about doing school-work (while not actually doing any) and designing exercise routines for when I’m healthier. I recently bought Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding after browsing through a friend’s copy; using knowledge from this encyclopedia and Frederic Delavier’s Strength Training Anatomy I’ve tried to create an efficient routine designed to strip down fat and increase muscle mass. If things work out well I will probably post up some exercise tips on the Internet. I was quite pleased with a relatively easy clean and press of 80 kg yesterday. The clean and press is basically a stricter version of the clean and jerk: lift the barbell off the ground and power it over the head in two movements using pure upper body strength on the second movement. According to the encyclopedia, it builds a Herculean physique and I will begin including it in my programme.
