I have just made some large contributions to the Solar Empire project, first and foremost releasing Generic 2.9! This is the first Generic Solar Empire release in over a year, I'm hoping (perhaps foolishly) that it will kick-start some more development from other individuals.
The home of Solar Empire has also been updated, with redundant servers (Xibit SE) being removed and new ones inserted, for instance: the Italian version and “The Farside” (both based on Quantum Star). I have also included information on the newest Generic release, and updated the CSS stylesheet.
I've also updated the location of Solar Empire 2 to se.browserbased.org. Although it is not playable yet, the system behind the layout is very advanced (“base”). I need to find a way of creating static sessions in the database, and only associating the session with the client if required. This will improve search engine compatibility (no long URLs because of the session id).
