If you search for my name Michael Clark on Google I will actually appear on the first page. That’s great: my homepage is 8th on Google for the first time! I updated the title of the page to include my name twice and a concise description of my homepage.
It is evident that XHTML coupled with good page structure results in high search engine rankings. It is important to provide detailed titles and headings on every page to accurately describe the content. I have done this and reaped the reward.
Unfortunately I just realised you have to search on google.co.uk; on google.com I appear 39th which is really annoying… I’m sure my ranking will improve as I improve the content and quality of my homepage over the next few months.
