Rules of development/life/study

I was thinking of different ways to make this journal more interesting and productive when I came up with the idea of adding a category containing lessons I learn, as I learn them. These can be cross-referenced with other journal entries to form a pseudo-encyclopaedia containing my methods of doing things. From now onwards I will try and write interesting things I learn on here so that others can fast-track their quest for knowledge.

The most difficult part of contributing to this journal is mainly the time required to access the journal administration functions and restrictions placed by being a browser-based application that does not save state if a crash/unexpected event occurs. Perhaps if I begin my entries using a simple text editor (that supports UTF-8 of course) I can write what I learn, including where from, as I learn it; this will reinforce this new knowledge through repetition – of course knowing a subject is completely different to having a total understanding and being able to explain it eloquently.
