Tiring days at the office

My holiday to Spain was cancelled for personal reasons and I’m continuing to work at Premier Christian Radio instead this week. Unfortunately my lift to the station is now an hour later in the morning and I have to wake up at an anguishing 5:45 am, teaching me some valuable lessons about the difficulties of working life.

I managed to lose my train ticket in Sutton about a week ago. This could have cost me a few hundred pounds but luckily the monthly season ticket had almost run out. Apparently they found my ticket-wallet and held it in Sutton for me to collect. In a desperate attempt to regain the extra money I had to spend travelling to London, I went to Sutton and asked for my possession back. They didn’t have it upstairs and told me to go down to the platform 2 office. The downstairs office said they had sent it to London Victoria station. I was going there anyway so it wasn’t too much of a bother (this was about 7:30 am) and I continued into London.

After queuing at London Victoria for a good ten minutes and waiting about five minutes more I was told it hadn’t arrived yet. The Royal Mail strikes probably held the mail up, causing the wallet to be stuck in transit today. I will get them back — they have been found and their existence is certain!
