University offers for mathematics and physics

Universities and part-time employment are top of my agenda at the moment and will continue to be over the next couple of months. A lot of exciting events have been happening in my (real) life recently, hence my lack of internet and journal activity. One of the most important factors for keeping my website alive are my journal entries and random creations; these neglected resources keep my Google ranking high and attract visitors and I need to maintain them better.

I have received offers from (in order of preference) Bath, Warwick, Bristol, Liverpool and York. All the offers are based on achieving AAB in my final A-level exams, with the A grades in mathematics and physics, except for Bristol — who hasn’t decided — and Liverpool which is offering ABB. I listed them in order of current preference but I am open to suggestion: over the next couple of months the introduction days and various more private factors will finalise where I am going to study — and effectively my entire life. It is intimidating to think that a decisive mistake now could jeopardise my future success and happiness.

I have also applied to study mathematics with physics at Corpus Christi College in the University of Cambridge; I haven’t heard any news regarding an offer but expect to be asked to attend an interview in Cambridge.

To judge whether you should attend an university browse their website. All the universities except Liverpool and York have excellent modern websites that contain a wealth of information: Cambridge especially because of its comprehensive, self-hosted tutorials for the LaTeX typesetting system which I have personally used.

I’m excited about the next few months and my general future. I hope that I will be satisfied and content but most of all I want to somehow create and invent with the aim of advancing the knowledge and improving the lifestyle of the human race. This is my real goal in life.
