Strength Level Calculator is a utility I created in the second half of last year to calculate athletic ability in the main exercises: clean and press, deadlift, bench press, squat and power clean. It takes the one-repetition maximum lift and uses and formula to calculate the level of athletic ability by taking into account the mass of the individual. This is based on an analysis of exercise data. The calculator is one of my favourite projects at the moment because it applies to one of my strongest personal interests.
The design has been updated to achieve a more attractive gymnasium-like feel — metallic, professional and full of dumbbells. It works in all current browsers using standards compliant XHTML and CSS. Free stock photography site stock.xchng provided all the source photos and I edited all the graphics with the open-source GIMP.
One of my strongest aims in life is to become elite in each of these five major exercises. This infers an athletic body-to-weight ratio, low level of body-fat and hence an impressive physique.
